Babacar Salif Gueye, Founder & Ceo

Mr. GUEYE has thirty years of proven experience in the management of forest resources and the fight against forest crime. GUEYE was the initiator of community forest management as national coordinator of the Pilot Forest Management Scheme project from 1995 to 1998, with funding from French cooperation. It was the Pilot Scheme that defined the first ways of involving rural populations and communities in the implementation of forest management plans. Local forest management structures took shape through memoranda of understanding between villages and rural councils. 

Mr. GUEYE also held the position of national coordinator of the USAID Agriculture Natural Resource Management program better known as USAID Wula Nafaa, which has greatly contributed to the scaling up of community forest management and the strengthening of local governance for sustainable management of natural resources. For example, Wula Nafaa has managed more than five hundred thousand (500,000) hectares of community forests, designed and implemented local governance tools, and developed value chains for non-timber forest products.

Dr Momar Mbaye

Dr Momar Mbaye is an icon of forest resource mapping and forest management plan development. Mbaye has worked in the development of numerous forest management plans in Senegal (mapping, inventory, plot) and their implementation in the regions of Kolda, Sédhiou, Tambacounda, and even Ziguinchor. 

Mr. Mbaye has also extensive experience in the management and governance of fisheries, the development of management tools for grazing and pastoral systems.

Papa Assane Ndiour

Papa Assane Ndiour, who was head of the regional forest service of the Tambacounda and Kedougou regions, and regional manager of PROGEDE in Kolda and Tambacounda. Mr. Ndiour participated in the identification of forest areas to be managed. He had to coordinate the creation of management committees for community biodiversity reserves (monitoring committee, management committee, and committee of elders), the development and implementation of participatory and integrated forest management plans, and management plans for community biodiversity reserves.

Mr. Ndiour has extensive experience in the following:

Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Learning (MERL),

Feasibility studies of forestry-related projects.

 Training and capacity building in community forest management, forest governance (structural and functional), and accountability.

Communities' empowerment for social, institutional, environmental justice, and democratic management of common resources.

Forest inventories for wood and non-wood forest products

Souleye Ndiaye, Specialist In Protected Areas And Conservation

Mr. NDIAYE also has over thirty years of experience in the management of national parks and biodiversity conservation. NDIAYE was the Niokolo Koba National Park (NKNP) curator and twice director of Senegal's national parks. NDIAYE's experience is immeasurable, and it is internationally renowned. 

Mr. Ndiaye is also a renowned specialist for protecting great apes and endangered species.

Issa Sidibe 

Issa SIDIBE who also has more than thirty years of experience in the management of protected wetlands. Sidibé also served in Niokolo Koba National Park. He is well known for his expertise in community wildlife management.

Mrs Mbaye Bineta Diop, Expert In Household Energy, Specialist In Improved Cookstoves And Alternative energies for wood

Mrs. MBAYE has over ten years of experience, in the fields of household energy, including improved stoves, biodigesters, and bio charcoal; domestic energy demand planning and management activities. She has also worked on energy efficiency, gender and energy, and energy statistics as well as the Energy Information System (EIS) and the WAEMU EIS, the planning of energy policy documents including the Energy Sector Policy and Development Letter (LPDSE).

Saloum Cissokho

Saloum Cissokho, who has extensive experience in the governance of local communities and in the management of natural resources. Saloum is one of the precursors of the local agreement based on a land use plan (POAS) and a code of conduct on the management of local resources. He has carried out a dozen local conventions for a total area of about one million hectares.

Samba Laobé Ndao, Geomatics Cartographer

Mr. Ndao, who has thirty years of experience, is an icon of forest resource mapping. He is one of the first specialists in this field and has worked in almost all forestry development projects. Ndao is currently a part-time lecturer at the Hydrology and Sanitation Department of the University of Thiès where he teaches modular courses on cartography, remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS).

Fatou Diouf Mbaye, Digital Graphic Designer, Database Management

Fatou Diouf Mbaye has extensive experience and very knowledgeable in the design and development of databases for natural resources management and governance.
